Capacity Planning

Definition

Forecasting how much work your team can handle in a given period, based on headcount, utilization targets, and existing commitments. Example: 3 designers × 28 billable hrs/week × 4 weeks = 336 available hours, minus 120 committed = 216 available.

Why It Matters

Prevents overbooking (missed deadlines, burnout) and underbooking (idle team, wasted payroll).
