Scoping & Delivery
Discovery Phase
Definition
The initial stage of a project where you research, ask questions, and define what needs to be built before any design or development starts. Includes stakeholder interviews, competitive analysis, requirements gathering, and technical assessment. Usually billed separately.
Why It Matters
Skipping discovery to "save time" leads to rework, scope creep, and misaligned expectations. Projects with proper discovery are 2-3x more likely to stay on budget.
