HubSpot CRM is generous at the free tier and deep on marketing automation when you pay — but it was built for inbound lead nurture, not for delivering billable client work. Project management and billable time tracking are not HubSpot’s center; invoices exist, but they are not tied to agency delivery, margin, or project ledgers.
If you sell services and care about margins after the deal closes, these five tools fit a different job than CRM-only HubSpot. For a head-to-head feature table, see our Corcava vs HubSpot comparison.
The five alternatives
1. Corcava
Replaces the HubSpot + PM + time + invoicing patchwork: CRM deals become projects, time rolls into invoices, and Project Finances tracks margin without Marketing Hub upsells.
Typical buyer: service team that outgrew free HubSpot but does not need enterprise marketing automation.
2. Teamwork.com
Agency-native PM with time tracking and billing. Keep HubSpot for marketing if you must, or swap both for one operational stack.
3. Scoro
PSA with strong financial reporting. Fits mid-size firms willing to pay above HubSpot Starter for unified delivery and billing.
4. Accelo
Full professional-services automation when HubSpot’s CRM plus bolt-ons still cannot connect sales to delivery. Quote-based; compare retainer and utilization needs.
5. Monday.com
Visual workflows for client delivery. Monday CRM is separate from work management; invoicing usually stays in accounting software.
