Data Importing

Overview

Corcava supports importing data to help you migrate from other tools and spreadsheets. The current release focuses on CRM data from Pipedrive and generic file uploads:

  • Upload from file (CSV/XLS/XLSX) — Contacts
  • Import from Pipedrive — Persons → Contacts, Organizations → Clients, Deals → Deals (pipeline)

Other CRMs (HubSpot, Zoho, etc.): use generic CSV upload if you can export compatible columns. There is no native HubSpot or Zoho connector today.

Where to Start

  • For Contacts: go to Contacts → Bulk Upload/Import

    • Upload from file: map your file columns to contact fields
    • Pipedrive: upload the Pipedrive Persons CSV/XLSX (standard export)
  • For Clients: go to Clients → Bulk Upload/Import

    • Pipedrive: upload the Pipedrive Organizations CSV/XLSX (standard export)
  • For Deals: go to Deals → Import

    • Pipedrive: upload the Pipedrive Deals CSV/XLSX (standard export)

What Gets Imported

  • Contacts: first/last name, email, phone, company, address, social profiles, description
  • Clients: company name, website, phone, email, address, notes/description
  • Deals: deal title, value, stage, linked contact/organization where present in export
  • Optional association: Contacts can be linked to Clients by matching company/organization name (when applicable)

Feedback and Logging

  • After import, you’ll see a summary with created/updated/skipped counts
  • Detailed logs are written to the file-parser log channel for troubleshooting (headers detected, rows processed, skip reasons)

Notes & Limitations

  • Supported formats: CSV, XLS, XLSX
  • Pipedrive import supports Persons (to Contacts), Organizations (to Clients), and Deals (to Deals)
  • Provider account ID is managed internally (defaults to a safe value); no configuration needed in the UI
  • Duplicate handling is flexible; imports are idempotent and avoid hard uniqueness blocks

Import Clients from Pipedrive (Organizations)

  1. In the app, open Clients → Bulk Upload/Import → “Pipedrive: Organizations”.
  2. Upload your exported Pipedrive Organizations file (CSV/XLS/XLSX). No special export settings are required.
  3. Start the import and wait for the completion summary.

What you’ll see after import:

  • Created/Updated/Skipped counts for quick verification
  • Imported client fields include company name, emails/phones where present, address and notes

Import Deals from Pipedrive

  1. In Pipedrive, export Deals (CSV/XLS/XLSX) with standard columns.
  2. In Corcava, open Deals → Import → “Pipedrive: Deals”.
  3. Upload the file and wait for the completion summary.

What you'll see after import:

  • Created/Updated/Skipped counts per row
  • Deal records you can move through your pipeline; won deals still require you to create projects manually when delivery starts

After import checklist

  1. Compare Pipedrive export row counts to Corcava created/updated/skipped summary.
  2. Spot-check 5 contacts and 5 clients for email, company, and phone accuracy.
  3. Open active deals — confirm stages and values look right.
  4. For won deals ready for delivery: create a project on the same client record (manual step today).
  5. Set bill/pay rates on new projects; start tracking time.
  6. Cancel redundant tool subscriptions only after one billing cycle on Corcava.
