How does the Cursor integration work?

When you connect Cursor to Corcava you get two things. (1) Coding Report—add your Cursor Admin API key in Settings > Integrations > Cursor; then in Reports > Coding Report you'll see Cursor usage and spend alongside time tracking and Git activity. (2) Task context and time tracking in the editor—add the Corcava MCP server and your Corcava API key to ~/.cursor/mcp.json; your AI assistant in Cursor can then read tasks, create or update tasks, start and stop time tracking, and add comments without leaving the editor.

Does Corcava have an AI assistant?

Yes! Corcava includes an AI-powered business assistant that answers questions about your data in plain English. Ask questions like 'How many hours did my team work last week?' or 'Which project was most profitable this month?' and get instant answers. The AI understands natural language, recognizes team member names, and works with your time tracking, financial, and project data. Available to organization managers and administrators to protect sensitive business information.

Is my data safe when using the AI assistant?

Yes, your data is secure. The AI assistant processes queries in real-time using your current data and doesn't store your business information. All queries respect your team permissions and data isolation. While OpenAI processes the queries to provide intelligent responses, your business data is not retained by OpenAI. Conversations are private to each user and not shared with other team members.

What can I ask the AI Business Assistant?

You can ask the AI assistant about time tracking (hours worked by team or project), project profitability (revenue, costs, profit margins), client billing (unbilled time, total revenue), and financial comparisons. Use natural language like 'Show me time tracked for Project X last week' or 'Which team member was most active yesterday?' The AI understands date expressions like 'last week' and 'this month' and recognizes team member names even if you use first names or nicknames.

Does Corcava send automated work summary emails?

Yes! You can receive daily and weekly email summaries automatically. Daily reports show yesterday's work with project and task breakdowns, sent every morning at 1:00 AM. Weekly reports arrive every Monday with a complete recap of the previous week (Monday-Sunday). Both include progress bars towards your weekly target if you have one set. All reports can be enabled or disabled individually in your notification settings.

What's in the weekly work summary email?

The weekly work summary covers Monday through Sunday and includes your total hours for the week, complete breakdowns by project and task, your final weekly progress percentage if you have a target, and week-over-week comparisons. It's sent every Monday morning at 2:00 AM, but only if you tracked time during that week. Perfect for weekly reviews and planning the upcoming week.

Can managers receive team-wide email reports?

Yes! Team owners and organization managers automatically receive daily and weekly team reports. The daily team summary shows yesterday's team activity with progress bars for members who have targets. The weekly team summary includes a complete week recap and lists team members who didn't meet their weekly targets. These reports help you start each day and week informed about team productivity.

Can I turn off the automated email reports?

Yes! All email reports can be individually enabled or disabled in Settings → Notification Settings. You can choose to receive only daily reports, only weekly reports, both, or neither. Team managers can independently control their personal reports and team reports. All reports are enabled by default but you have complete control over which emails you receive.

Can I export time tracking data from project boards?

Yes! You can export complete time tracking activity from any project board. Choose your date range, select whether to group data by team member or by task, pick your format (JSON, CSV, or Excel), and choose between seconds or hours:minutes:seconds for time format. Perfect for client billing, performance reviews, integrating with external tools, or generating custom reports in spreadsheets.

What is the Coding Report and how does it use GitHub?

The Coding Report puts time tracking and Git activity in one place—built for coding teams. Connect GitHub or GitLab in Settings > Integrations, then open Reports > Coding Report to see commits and repo activity alongside your team's tracked time. Filter by date range, link GitHub users to Corcava users for clear attribution, and when Cursor is connected, view Cursor usage in the report too. You get both "how long" and "what shipped" in a single view.
