Understand the payment workflow
Stablecoin payroll vs contractor payments
Updated
“Stablecoin payroll” can describe the transfer of pay in tokens such as USDT or USDC, or a wider service that also administers payroll. Start by separating the amount you owe, the process that approves it and the payment route that delivers it.
This guide explains that distinction and where Corcava's individual contractor-invoice payouts fit.
What does a stablecoin payroll service actually cover?
Evaluate the work done before and after the transfer. Moving an approved amount to a wallet does not establish how that amount was calculated, who approved it or how it should appear in your records.
| Responsibility | Questions to answer | Evidence to keep |
|---|---|---|
| Determine the amount owed | Is this an employee pay run or payment of a contractor invoice? Which process calculates and approves the amount? | The applicable pay record or approved invoice and its currency. |
| Deliver the payment | Which asset, network, funding account and verified destination will be used? Who pays the fee? | The authorized recipient amount, fee, total debit and provider reference. |
| Reconcile the result | Did the provider complete the transfer, and was the correct amount applied to the right obligation? | The completion record, invoice allocation, remaining balance and exception notes. |
If your requirement includes gross-to-net calculation, tax withholding, filings, payslips, worker classification or an employer-of-record service, verify those capabilities separately for the relevant arrangement and jurisdiction. A stablecoin transfer feature does not establish that coverage.
When the task is paying an approved contractor invoice
For agency work, the operational starting point can be an invoice for an agreed milestone or approved work. The payer needs to check its remaining balance, verify the destination, approve the expense and follow the transfer to completion.
Corcava's crypto contractor flow handles individual sent, approved USD team invoices with an outstanding balance. It supports USDT on TRON or Ethereum and USDC on Ethereum. A connected Binance Spot or Funding wallet, or a Bybit or OKX main-account Funding wallet, supplies the payout, subject to account and regional availability.
The contractor manages their receiving method and confirms changes by email code. A superadmin configures the payer connection and releases the payment with a separate confirmation code. Changing a saved wallet does not silently replace an invoice's selected destination; a changed invoice destination needs fresh approval.
Use this flow for the contractor invoice payment workflow. It does not provide statutory employee payroll administration, an automatic scheduled pay run or bulk crypto release.
Budget for what recipients receive and what the company spends.
In this contractor flow, the supported dollar stablecoins settle approved USD balances at the agreed 1:1 amount. The company pays each quoted exchange fee in addition. That settlement agreement is not a market-price or bank-conversion guarantee.
| Invoice | USD balance | USDT to recipient | Example USDT fee | USDT debit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DEMO-A | 500 | 500 | 2 | 502 |
| DEMO-B | 800 | 800 | 3 | 803 |
| DEMO-C | 1,200 | 1,200 | 4 | 1,204 |
| Total | 2,500 | 2,500 | 9 | 2,509 |
This is a fictional budgeting example, not a live quote or batch-payment screen. Review and confirm each invoice separately using its actual destination, available route and current fee. The selected funding wallet must have enough usable balance for that release.
Keep other costs separate: acquiring the stablecoins, moving funds into the selected exchange wallet and any recipient conversion to local currency. USDT network selection explains why fees and receiving compatibility must be checked together.
Build the routine around approvals and exceptions.
- Prepare the payable record. Confirm the work, invoice currency, outstanding balance and recipient's current payout method. Resolve a changed destination before approval.
- Review the individual quote. Check the company account, network, destination, recipient amount, additional fee and total debit before entering the release code.
- Follow the existing attempt. Submission is not completion. A pending or unknown payout stays visible and protected against another payment while its outcome is investigated.
- Reconcile the completed result. A matching completed provider withdrawal records the invoice payment. Retain the provider reference and blockchain hash when supplied, and check the resulting invoice balance.
Transactions shows money movements known to Corcava, with filters and export. Recheck reads provider withdrawal history; it does not send the money again or force an invoice to paid. Keep this invoice trail alongside your other business records. Follow the detailed payout guide for setup and release steps.
Questions when comparing crypto payroll options
Does paying in USDT turn a contractor payment into payroll?
The asset describes how the payment is delivered. It does not determine the underlying work arrangement or replace its required records. Establish the appropriate process before choosing the transfer route.
Can I pay every contractor at once in this flow?
The verified flow releases individual approved invoices. Plan the total funding requirement, but review and confirm each payment separately. The worksheet above is not an automated batch feature.
Can an incoming client payment automatically fund a payout?
Incoming checkout and outgoing exchange payouts use separately configured accounts. A client receipt does not automatically move funds to the selected exchange wallet or authorize a contractor payment.
